Aromas of black cherry, leather, sweet cherry tobacco, toasted vanilla beans, floral notes with hints of dried herbs. Flavors of strawberry sauce, black raspberry, ripe figs, and cocoa powder. Smooth and full on the palate with a lovely tannin structure and a long spicy finish.

Method
Regardless of the high temperatures and early ripening, we still let this Destiny Ridge Tempranillo hang on the vines to achieve just the right amount of flavor development. Whole-berry fermented in small bins followed by malolactic fermentation in oak barrels. Blended with Grenache the following Spring to enhance mouth-feel and increase the stability of the wine throughout barrel-aging. The 2014 Invader was aged for 18 months in 40 percent new French oak barrels.
